Bold Charter School
NYCR-CDE provided $19 million in New Markets Tax Credit financing to fund the construction of a new public charter school in the Bronx.
The new 60,000 square foot school will be home to approximately 700 students in grades K-8 and run by Bold Charter School, a growing Bronx-based charter school network. The school will feature 27 classrooms, small breakout rooms, an art room, music room, cafeteria, gymnasium, as well as science labs and administrative spaces.
Established in 2019, Bold Charter School’s stated goal is to help students graduate accomplished both academically and personally, prepared to lead self-determined and purposeful lives. The new school is being constructed by Civic Builders, the nation’s leading non-profit charter school developer. It is anticipated that approximately 96% of the 700 students will qualify as low-income.
“This new building advances our mission of building world-class public schools and delivers on our commitment to achieving the extraordinary in everything we do. We’re thrilled to create a learning environment worthy of our families’ aspirations and our students’ futures.”
