Fueling Economic and Community
Development in New York City
Since 2009, we’ve put over $1.9 billion of capital to work across fifty-six projects in four boroughs. Our financing is sparking economic opportunity by investing in the building blocks of New York City’s economy as well as core components of underserved neighborhoods.
We’ve financed a broad spectrum of projects. These include the construction of new public charter schools, community health clinics, childcare centers, film and television studios, sports arenas, community recreation centers, transportation facilities, food pantries, retail/office/hospitality space, large-scale public wi-fi networks, infrastructure improvements, and over two million square feet of light industrial and distribution facilities.
Our financing is done through two companies: New York City Regional Center and NYC Regional Community Development. We invite you to explore how our funding has deeply impacted communities across New York City.

New York City Regional Center invests in the building blocks of the city’s economy. We’ve funded over $1.5 billion of capital that’s spurred the construction of 5.3 million square feet of new development and renovation as well as significant infrastructure upgrades resulting in thousands of new jobs for New Yorkers.

Our mission at NYC Regional Community Development is to expand access to capital for underserved neighborhoods. We’ve provided $390 million in tax credit financing that’s funded the construction and renovation of over 1.8 million square feet of community facilities as well as thousands of hours of youth programming in areas of New York City starved for capital.

Brooklyn Navy Yard
Since 2009, we’ve provided financing for eight projects that fueled the redevelopment of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, New York City’s largest industrial park. This capital assisted in the build-out of light industrial, office, retail, and film and television space as well as infrastructure upgrades transforming the Navy Yard into one of the most successful urban manufacturing districts in the country.
Public Charter Schools & Childcare Centers
Since 2016, we’ve worked to remove the real estate barrier by offering affordable and flexible capital for the construction of high-quality public charter schools and early childcare centers in communities where the need is greatest. We are proud to help finance the creation of physical spaces where students and teachers thrive and communities gather.
Healthcare
We work to strengthen the healthcare safety net by financing the construction and renovation of community-based health centers. Our work includes financing the construction of St. John’s Episcopal Hospital’s new ambulatory pavilion in Far Rockaway; the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center’s new facility in Flushing; the Urban Health Plan Medical Plaza in the Bronx; and the construction and expansion of four Community Healthcare Network centers in Manhattan, Queens, and the South Bronx. These facilities are providing critical healthcare for underserved communities throughout the city.
