Community Healthcare Network

NYCR-CDE provided $10 million in New Markets Tax Credit financing to fund the construction and expansion of two new healthcare centers to serve low-income communities in Queens and the South Bronx.

The capital helped fund the construction of a new 15,000 square foot Federally Qualified Health Center in Jamaica, Queens that offers clinical services, primary medical care, and psychiatric care to the surrounding underserved community, including the homeless population. The center, run by Community Healthcare Network, includes 18 exam rooms and serves approximately 11,000 people annually. It is located on the second floor of 170-unit affordable housing development in downtown Jamaica.

The capital also facilitated the construction of a second Federally Qualified Health Center in the South Bronx which replaced a previous clinic that was half its size. The new 9,000 square foot center provides more exam rooms and dental operating rooms and allows for an additional 4,000 medical visits and 2,600 dental visits annually.

The two centers combined have the capacity to accommodate 52,400 patient visits per year which equates to 17,400 unique patients annually.

Community Healthcare Network (CHN) is the largest network of community health centers in New York City that provides quality and affordable healthcare services to all. The non-profit provides more than 80,000 New Yorkers annually with primary and behavioral healthcare, dental, nutrition, wellness, and needed support services. CHN is made up of 14 Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and the Bronx along with a fleet of mobile vans that bring health services to underserved people in need. CHN provides high-quality healthcare, without regard to ability to pay. No one is turned away.

"CHN is committed to serving those most in need"
