St. John’s Episcopal Hospital Ambulatory Pavilion

NYCR-CDE provided $16 million in New Markets Tax Credit financing to help fund the construction of St. John’s Episcopal Hospital’s new Walsh Ambulatory Pavilion in the Far Rockaway section of Queens. 

The 52,000 square foot pavilion allows for ambulatory care to be moved outside of the main hospital building and into a state-of-the-art complex located across the street from the hospital. The facility provides healthcare needs to approximately 20,000 unique patients per year. The pavilion not only offers expanded outpatient services, but helps the hospital provide an integrated delivery system that affords strengthened outpatient primary care, specialty care, and behavioral health services to the community. The basement level of the new pavilion includes PET/CT scan services as well as radiation oncology. The first floor has ambulatory care and a family medicine practice and the second floor includes outpatient behavioral health services. The third floor includes an infusion center and oncology services that brings cancer care back to the Rockaways in partnership with New York Cancer and Blood Specialists. The fourth floor is home to an endoscopy clinic. 

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital is part of Episcopal Health Services network, a health system based on the Rockaway Peninsula. The system provides emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved Rockaways and Five Towns populations. Episcopal Health Services provides people of all faiths with comprehensive preventive, diagnostic treatment, and rehabilitative services, regardless of their ability to pay.
